Located just a short walk from the World Heritage Site Nijo Castle, nestled in an alley that lets you experience Kyoto firsthand, and offering a spacious Kyoto townhouse, Guesthouse 'KAKURE' is created for those who love Kyoto and seek more than just a trip but a deep Kyoto experience.

Though not situated in a bustling downtown area, it is only a minute's walk to the World Heritage Site Nijo Castle. Positioned in an alley that offers a genuine feel of Kyoto, a glance outside the house might make you feel as if you've stepped back in time, thanks to the traditional alleyway view and the classic tsuboniwa (small courtyard garden). A short walk brings you to Nijo Castle.

Our wish is for you to experience Kyoto firsthand. This is the heartfelt concept behind our guesthouse.

The first floor features a living room, a small kitchen, toilet, bath, and a tsuboniwa. On the second floor, there are a Japanese-style bedroom with tatami mats and a bedroom with beds. It is spacious enough for four guests to stay comfortably. If you are staying with small children, setting up futons in the Japanese-style room is also possible.
